Qatar and Egypt have political will to improve relations after their breakup over three years ago, and the invitation for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to pay a visit to Doha remains in force, the Qatari Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman, Assistant Minister Lolwah Al-Khater said in an interview with Sputnik.
“As for bilateral relations with Egypt, in this case, both countries have political will to improve relations, which was confirmed by the recent visit to Egypt by Qatari foreign minister and other high-ranking officials. Qatar highly appreciates the role that Egypt played in achieving the ceasefire in the occupied Palestinian territories and we look forward to strengthening cooperation with Egypt and all the Arab states,” Al-Khater said.
The invitation for Al-Sisi to pay a visit to Qatar remains in force, the assistant foreign minister assured.
“We will decide through consultations with our Egyptian brothers when this visit can take place,” Al-Khater specified.
