Ulan-Ude: Legendary boxer MC Mary Kom settled for bronze in the World Championships on Saturday after she was defeated in the semi-finals of the women’s 51kg category.
Mary Kom lost 1-4 in the semis against Busenaz Cakiroglu of Turkey.
This was Mary’s 8th medal at the World Boxing Championships. She is now the most successful boxer of all time. Mary has so far won 6 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze in her career.
Now all the eyes are on the debutant boxers from India- Manju Rani and Jamuna Boro.
Manju will play against Thailand’s former World Championships bronze medallist Chuthamat Raksat while Jamuna Boro will be seen playing against former Asian Games bronze medallist Huang Hsiao-Wen of Chinese Taipei.
