Melbourne: On the second day of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Captain Ajinkya Rahane and All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja gives India a firm control over the match.
India resumed batting from 36/1 in Day 2, Shubman Gill and Cheteswar Pujara formed a partnership of 61 runs. However, Cummins ended Gill’s innings at 45 and sent back Pujara in his his immediate over.
At the tea break, India’s score board read 189/5 with Jadeja and Rahane in the crease. The duo took forward the game with a strong partnership. At the end end of day 2 Rahane and Jadeja have put up an unbeaten stand of 104 runs for the sixth wicket.
At the stumps on day 2, India is at 277/5 with a lead of 82 runs and wickets safe in the pocket. Rahane and Jadeja will continue in the crease on day 3 and the visitors are looking up to grow the lead as big as they could.
