Sydney (Australia): India’s fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has gone viral in social media pages after a video of him in tears while singing National Anthem came out.
Mohammed Siraj who made his international debut against Australia earlier this series was in tears when the Indian National Anthem was played ahead of the third Test between India and Australia in Sydney.
The fast bowler had lost his father in December 2020 but chose to stay with the team for the series. Siraj who came into the team as a substitute to Mohammed Shami who was ruled out off the series due to injury, took 5 wickets in his debut match.
“He wished that I continue playing for India and make my country proud”, Siraj has said at the time of his father’s death.
In the third test against India at Sydney, Australia won the toss and chose to bat. Their first wicket was taken down by Siraj in the third over. At the end of day-1 Australia is at 166/2 with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne in the crease.
