The hosts were bowled out for a mere 116 runs in 27.3 overs and South Africa sets a target of 117 runs for Bharat.
Ruturaj Gaikwad faced an early dismissal, falling victim to Wiaan Mulder after scoring just 5 runs from 10 balls. Sai Sudhrashan and Shreyas Iyer now occupy the crease for Bharat , aiming to build a strong partnership.
Earlier, South Africa’s decision to bat first, after winning the toss, proved to be a significant setback as they could only score 58 runs, and lost seven wickets in just 13 overs in the first ODI against Bharat.
