Chennai Super Kings to retain Suresh Raina; Jadhav, Vijay and Chawla likely to be dropped

New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings management has decided to retain cricketer Suresh Raina going into the mini-auction ahead of the the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. According to the latest reports from the team Kedar Jadhav, Piyush Chawla and Murali Vijay are most likely to be dropped. Along with Raina, the management has also decided to retain foreign stars like Dwayne Bravo and Faf du Plessis.

“Raina will definitely be a part of the CSK family. He is an integral member and there was never any doubt on him being retained. It was his personal call to return from UAE and the management was clear that his space needed to be respected. we expect him to fire on all cylinders this time around”, said a source from the CSK Management in a press statement.

“As for Kedar, Piyush and Vijay, we will have to see. It is a touch and go situation and a final call wilol be taken by the senior management before the final list is submitted to the BCCI today”, the source added.

Earlier the day, Harbhajan Singh had been released as his contract expired and Shane Watson had announced his retirement. Captain M S Dhoni had also confirmed that he will be with the team for the upcoming season of the IPL.
