Wayanad:  The Municipal Corporation of Wayanad has honoured Keralite cricketer Minnumani for her outstanding performance on her international debut by naming the Mysore Road Junction in Mananthavadi after her. This decision was taken in a council meeting held recently to recognise the young cricketer’s talent and contributions to the Indian cricket team.

In recognition of Minnumani’s achievements, the Municipal Corporation took the decision to rename the Mysore Road Junction in Mananthavadi as Minnumani Junction. A board bearing the cricketer’s name has been installed at the junction, celebrating her remarkable journey in the world of cricket.

Hailing from Ondayangadi, Idapally, Minnumani has made her mark on the cricketing world with an exceptional debut for the Indian team. She displayed her strength by taking a wicket, and throughout the series, she showcased remarkable performance, claiming five wickets in total in her first match against Bangladesh. Her extraordinary performance earned her the title of the player with the most wickets in the series.

Residents of Choimula village, where Minnumani hails from, have warmly welcomed and celebrated the success of their hometown hero. Being the first Malayali female player to represent the Indian cricket team, Minnu Mani’s achievements have brought immense pride to her village and the entire region.

Looking ahead, Minnumani’s journey in cricket is set to progress even further, as she has been included in the team for the upcoming Asian Games. Her inclusion in such a prestigious tournament highlights her growing influence in Indian cricket and her potential to achieve greater heights in the future.
