Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asked all states to rise above politics and come together to fight the pandemic.

Prime Minister was interacting with chief ministers to discuss the ongoing COVID situation and the inoculation drive.

While reiterating his calls for ‘dawai bhi, kadai bhi’, he asked the states to ramp up the vaccination drive to check the virus and also urged the people to follow the COVID-appropriate behavior.

He said we need to take steps promptly and carefully to tackle the COVID situation. He added that during the first wave, the country did not have resources and experience to fight against the virus, but still we had managed to defeat the pandemic.

He added that now we have resources, experience and vaccine against the virus and if we use them properly then we can definitely defeat the virus.

PM Modi also called for observing a five-day vaccine festival between April 11 and 14 to inoculate the maximum number of eligible people.

“April 11 is Jyotiba Phule ji’s birth anniversary and April 14 is Baba Saheb’s birth anniversary, in the meantime let us all celebrate the ‘Teeka Utsav’. We should make efforts to vaccinate more and more people during the vaccination festival,” he said.

He also urged the young people to help those above 45 years in getting vaccinated.

During the interaction, The PM also asked states to do all-party meets with respective governors to create an actionable plan against Covid-19.
