Thiruvananthapuram: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts chances for isolated heavy rain in the state today. A yellow alert has been issued to 11 districts including Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod.
The state will receive heavy rainfall ranging from 64.5mm to 115.5mm in 24 hours.
IMD has also predicted thundershowers in Kerala from today till July 1st.
Due to the chances of heavy rainfall, the fishermen are advised not to venture into the Kerala – Lakshadweep coast until tomorrow and the Karnataka coast till July 1st.
The alert message also includes chances for an extreme wind of 40-50 kmph along the Kerala-Lakshadweep-Karnataka coast.
