Thiruvananthapuram: Due to the heavy rain, the educational institutions in 12 districts including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Wayanad will remain closed today.
The holiday is applicable to all educational institutions including the professional colleges. In the wake of the heavy rain, a red alert has also announced. The Kerala and MG universities have postponed all exams. The new date will be published soon.
Last day, 6 people were died in the heavy rain. 3 people died in Kannur, 1 each in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts. This raises the total number of death to 12.
The government has issued high alerts due to the possibility of flash flood.
