Change in rain forecast: Red alert cancelled and orange alert has been issued for 11 districts

Thiruvananthapuram: Red alert has been cancelled in Ernakulam, Idukki and Kottayam districts. The decision has taken on the basis of a slight decrease in the rainfall.

Currently orange alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts. The IMD has informed that all these districts will have Orange alerts tomorrow.

The Orange alert means to prepare and be ready.

Meanwhile, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Kasaragod districts have yellow alerts.

IMD says that the intensity of the rain will subside after 5 August.
