Based on the warning, orange alert has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulum, Idukki and Malappuram districts today and orange alert in seven districts including Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam Idukki and Thrissur tomorrow.

Yellow alert declared for:

01-09-2022: Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod

02-09-2022: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode

03-09-2022: Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram

04-09-2022: Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulum, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod

The cyclonic circulation that formed over Tamil Nadu is the reason behind the heavy rain in Kerala. More than this low pressure trough exists in Tamil Nadu to Western Vidarbha. As a result of this, there is a possibility of widespread rains in Kerala for the next 5 days with isolated heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning.
