Thiruvananthapuram: The state is likely to receive rainfall in the upcoming days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain on Saturday and in the coming days. Based on this, a yellow alert has been imposed in various districts.
An alert has been issued for the next five days. Rain is expected across the state on Saturday but no warning has been issued.
List of districts that have Yellow alert from Sunday to Wednesday
Sunday- Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram.
Monday – Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur
Tuesday – Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts
The state is receiving heavy rains due to the impact of Cyclone Mandaus. In the next few hours, the cyclone will weaken and become low pressure. In addition to rain, a possibility for strong wind is also there. Following this, a warning has been issued to the fishermen.
The Meteorological Centre has warned to stop venturing on the coasts of Kerala-Karnataka and Lakshadweep on 12th and 13th December.
