Thiruvananthapuram: State likely to receive heavy rain today. Cyclone Mandous, which passed through Tamil Nadu, has turned into a cyclonic vortex and led to heavy rain in Kerala. The Indian Meteorological Department( IMD) has predicted that rain will continue in the state today and tomorrow. A yellow alert has been issued in seven districts today.
Yellow alert has been issued today in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. These districts may receive isolated heavy rains. IMD has also informed that there is a possibility of moderate rain at isolated areas in all districts of Kerala in the next 3 hours.
Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Idukki districts have yellow alert, tomorrow. The IMD also informs that the fishermen should stop venturing in Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts till December 13.
