Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Forest Department deputed specially trained elephant catching team to capture Arikomban. It’s a specially trained five-member team from tribal community. The Forest Department informed that experts from Muthumala Tiger Sanctuary Meen kalan, Bomman, Suresh, Shiva, Sreekanth and a veterinary surgeon Dr. Rajesh are part of the team.
According to the information received today morning Arikomban is moving towards the water reservoir of Shanmukha river dam. The Forest Department will capture it by firing tranquilizer dart if the elephant reaches a suitable place. At present, moves are being planned for this and the Forest Department staffs are observing the elephant.
