Thrissur: After the Forest Department officials tried to dampen the Thrissur Pooram Festival celebration with a controversial circular, the Revenue Minister, K Rajan, stepped into dispel the apprehensions of the devotees.
Devotees and Elephant owners had come out in protest against the Forest Department’s circular ordering eight RRT team to control the elephants during the procession. In addition the circular also demanded that Forest Department doctors must examine the elephants.
Minister K Rajan said that the process have been started to remove the re-verification order issued yesterday. He said that there is no more argument. Will talk with devotees and organizers concerning any difficulties they are facing.
The Devaswom boards and devotees had protested against the controversial circular. They said that the order in the circular is impractical.
