THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have taken a decisive step in response to the recent actions of Kerala Assembly Speaker A N Shamseer, where he made comments deemed insulting to Hindu beliefs and deities. BJP and VHP have decided to lodge a complaint against him in all the police stations across the state by the thirtieth of this month.
According to VHP, these remarks were deliberately intended to stir communal tensions in Kerala.
In addition to filing the complaint, the parties are planning to submit a petition to both the President and the Governor, urging them to remove Shamseer from his position as Speaker. A series of protest programs is also being organized during the VHP state governing board meeting scheduled for the 30th in Ernakulam.
V R Rajasekaran, the VHP state general secretary, expressed strong disapproval of Shamseer’s actions, stating that they consider his behavior to be an unforgivable mistake. Rajasekaran emphasized that such remarks are highly inappropriate for an assembly speaker.
The BJP has also raised objections to the controversial statements made by the Speaker during a ‘Vidya Jyothi’ program held at a government school in Ernakulam district last week. The situation has escalated, leading to these actions taken by the BJP and VHP to address the matter and seek appropriate consequences for the Speaker’s remarks.
BJP emphasized that such behavior only befits someone with a degenerate mindset, and warned Shamseer to refrain from delivering speeches that incite hatred.
