Abu Dhabi: Bharat and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have joined hands in a strategic partnership to advance development efforts across seven key sectors. Union Industries Minister Piyush Goyal announced this collaborative initiative during his visit to the UAE, marking his third visit to the nation since assuming the role of India’s Industries Minister.
During discussions with Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Head of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, both nations explored avenues for increased investments and cooperation in various fields. Several initiatives were deliberated upon, including the India-UAE Start-up Bridge and the Abu Dhabi-India Virtual Trade Corridor.
A significant milestone was achieved as UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, and Piyush Goyal signed a comprehensive agreement to foster cooperation in vital sectors such as space exploration, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy.
Furthermore, a bilateral agreement was inked between the National Payments Corporation and Etihad Payments to introduce a new card model based on RuPay, enhancing the financial landscape between the two countries.
