Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of the possibility of heavy rain in the state for next five days. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for eight districts today in response to the forecast. These districts are Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur.
Rain is expected to be heavy in isolated areas, and thunderstorms are forecasted for the afternoons, as observed in the past few days. High waves are likely along the Kerala coast, but fishing is currently not restricted along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.
Furthermore, a yellow alert has been announced for nine districts tomorrow. The districts on alert include Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad. The IMD also predicts the possibility of strong winds accompanying the rain and advises taking precautions against lightning in the state.
