New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Scientists and the innovators after the DCGI granted approval to vaccines of Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech for restricted emergency use.

In a series of tweets the Prime Minster said that the approval of two vaccines for emergency use shows the eagerness of the scientific community to fulfill the dream of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
“We reiterate our gratitude to doctors, medical staff, scientists, police personnel, sanitation workers and all Corona warriors for the outstanding work done, that too in adverse circumstances. We will remain eternally grateful to them for saving many lives”, added Modi.
On Sunday, the DCGI had granted approval for Covid19 Vaccines developed by the Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech for restricted emergency use.
“After adequate examination, CDSCO has decided to accept the recommendations of the Expert Committee and accordingly, vaccines of M/s Serum and M/s Bharat Bio Tech are being approved for restricted use in emergency situation and permission is being granted to M/s Cadila Healthcare for conduct of the Phase III clinical trial”, said the DCGI after the vaccine approval.
