Karnataka reported 39,510 fresh cases of the COVID-19 in the last 24-hours, taking the total number of infections in the state to over two million on Tuesday (2,013,193).
According to official sources, as many as 480 people had also succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24-hours, pushing the total number of fatalities in the state to 19852.
The sources said that while as many as 22,584 Covid-19 patients got discharged from various hospitals in the state after completely recovering from the virus, now the state has 5,87,452 active cases.
While the Bengaluru Urban district recorded the highest 15879 fresh cases of the COVID-19, followed by 2496 in Tumakuru, 2170 in Mysuru, 1558 in Bellary, 1359 in Mandya, 1108 in Shivamogga, 1083 in Udupi and 1084 in Uttara Kannada districts in the state.
Among the high casualties for the COVID-19, in the state: the Bengaluru urban district accounts for 259, followed by Bellary 28, Bengaluru Rural 14, Chamarajanagara 12, Hassana 16, Mysuru 12, Shivamogga 10, Tumakuru 16 and Uttara Kannada 18.
In the last 24-hour, as many as 116238 people had undergone for the COVID-19 tests and the positivity rate was 33.99 per cent, while the Case Fatality Rate stood at 1.21 per cent, the sources added.
On Monday, the state saw 39,305 new cases and 596 deaths.
