India reported 2,57,299 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the infection tally to 2,62,89,290, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
Besides, the country also saw 4,194 more fatalities due to the virus, pushing the toll to 2,95,525. On Friday, the country recorded 4,209 deaths.
On a positive front, 3,57,630 patients recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 2,30,70,365.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 32,64,84,155 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus, of which record 20,66,285 tests were conducted in the past one day.
Currently, the country houses 29,23,400 active cases. On Friday, India had registered 2,59,591 Covid-19 cases.
