Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra averred on Friday that the state is in a “position of control” vis-à-vis the novel coronavirus.
“During the past 24 hours; 1,854 fresh instances were detected and 5,796 individuals recuperated. Average infection rate is 2.56 per cent and recovery 94.5 per cent. As many as 72,210 samples were analyzed on Thursday,” the senior politician conveyed via social media subsequent to an interaction with members of the Fourth Estate.
Meanwhile, a drill is underway with regard to ‘unlocking’ the state from Tuesday. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is in discussions with his officers. Deliberations are also progressing at the level of committees – constituted by the senior politician – and Crisis Management groups formed in each of the total 52 districts. Curfew is bring gradually relaxed on experimental basis since Tuesday in five less-affected districts. Indore and Bhopal still have the dubious distinction of spawning the maximum cases. The daily fatality figure continues to hover around 70 even as a ‘second front’ has opened up owing to black fungus.
