Sabarimala Karma Samithi condemns Kerala government's biased approach on Sabarimala and CAA protest cases

Pathanamthitta: The ‘Sabarimala Karma Samithi’ criticized the Kerala government for directing the DGP to withdraw cases registered against those who protested the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Kerala. The Sabarimala Karma Samithi has stated that the approach of the Kerala government is biased, while cases filed in connection with Sabarimala are still pending.

In light of this situation and citing the biased approach of the Pinarayi government, the ‘Sabarimala Karma Samithi’ demanded a legal system to protect the faith of temple devotees in Kerala. The ‘Sabarimala Karma Samithi,’ through a press release, stated that the law should strengthen the existence of all temples and faiths.

Mentioning their demand, the press release also added that the decision on legal system to protect devotees in Kerala is made after consultation with those ritually associated with the Sabarimala Temple, Hindu believers, and the organizations they represent, as well as those who supported safeguarding Sabarimala faith and filing cases at the Supreme Court to protect the faith.

This is essential for the survival of Hindu believers in Kerala. It also stated that Hindu believers are in a situation to take a strong political stance to resist the actions of the Marxist party, using the Sabarimala faith as a political weapon against believers.

In their press release, the Sabarimala Karma Samithi questioned the Pinarayi government’s unwillingness to withdraw cases related to the Sabarimala incident, even after the decision to withdraw cases against CAA protesters.

The Sabarimala Karma Samithi criticized the Pinarayi government’s directive to dismiss cases against CAA protesters, while failing to extend the same privilege to Sabarimala Ayyappa devotees, deeming it completely biased.

The Samithi stated that through this directive, Pinarayi Vijayan and the LDF government have once again exposed their affinity and appeasement towards religious extremists. The press release pointed out that the Kerala government’s decision clearly exposes that it was made for the sake of those who participated in the CAA agitations, by the SDPI members, who are companions of the Marxist party.

But, in the Sabarimala case, thousands of women who participated in the ‘Namajapa Yatra’ (a peaceful mantra-chanting procession) to safeguard their faith were arrested. Apart from this, several were brutally beaten by Kerala police, numerous fake cases were filed against them, and many men lost their jobs, spending lakhs of rupees on bail and still facing financial difficulties only for participating in peaceful mantra-chanting processions to safeguard their faith.

The press release also emphasized that believers are firm in their decision not to miss any opportunity to respond to the political movements that have led to these circumstances. The press release also stressed the importance of believers standing firm in politics to oppose the Marxist party’s actions against them.
