Thiruvananthapuram: A young man from Kerala who was stranded at the warfronts in Russia has returned. David Muthappan, a native of Anchuthengu, Thiruvananthapuram, arrived in Delhi last night. His statements were recorded today morning at the Delhi CBI office. The CBI informed that David Muthappan would be brought to Kerala two days later.
David Muthappan and Prince Sebastian, natives of Anchuthengu, Thiruvananthapuram, were stranded in Russia after being sent there by a travel agent from Thumba, Thiruvananthapuram, with false promises of a security job. Relatives informed, that upon arrival, their passports and mobile phones were confiscated, and they were trained for military camp. Prince was also shot and injured during the war.
Relatives of them allege the incident as human trafficking.
After the incident came to light, Attingal NDA candidate and Union Minister V Muraleedharan visited the victims’ house and assured that the Central government would safely bring back to the country those who are stranded in the war-torn areas of Russia.
In connection with the human trafficking to Russia, the CBI has raided and shut down travel agency offices in Thakaraparambu and Kazhakoottam of Thiruvananthapuram. The travel agencies offer fake office jobs, helper, and security officer jobs under the Russian government for human trafficking.
