Thiruvananthapuram: According to the latest report from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures have surged in seven districts of Kerala. notably Palakkad, where the mercury has soared to 40.4 degrees Celsius. The average high temperature in these districts has surpassed 38 degrees Celsius.
The IMD predicts further increases in temperature across Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, and Kannur districts in the coming days.The warning indicates that the heat index may soar to between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius in certain areas. This report is based on the heat index provided by the India Meteorological Department on an experimental basis.
Additionally, the IMD has issued warnings of rising temperatures in nine districts of the state, with Kollam, Thrissur, and Palakkad expecting maximum temperatures of 39 degrees Celsius, while Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts may see maximum temperatures of 37 degrees Celsius. Thiruvananthapuram is expected to reach a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius.
