Covid-19 was detected in 25,820 persons in Kerala on Sunday while 37,316 patients have recovered from the disease.
“In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK taking the total to 125, and their samples have been sent to NIV, Pune for further testing. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus,” according to a press release issued by the Health Department here this evening.
Meanwhile, 188 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 7,359.
It said 1,13,205 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate is 22.81 per cent. Till now, a total of 1,87,94,256 samples have been sent for testing.
Today, no place was identified as a new hotspot while any place was also not excluded from the list, taking the total to 877 hotspots in the State.
