Kerala on Wednesday reported 13,270 new cases of COVID, while 15,689 patients recovered from the disease, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
The Chief Minister, in a press release, said “1,12,521 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate is 11.79 %. Till now, a total of 2,15,06,139 samples have been sent for testing.”
Meanwhile, 147 recent deaths were confirmed on Wednesday due to COVID, taking the death toll in the state to 11,655.
On Wednesday, 19 new places were identified as hotspots while no place was excluded from the list, making the total to 908 hotspots in the state.
In the last 24 hours, COVID was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK taking the total to 128, and their samples have been sent to NIV, Pune for further testing. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
