THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a recent development, KPCC President K. Sudhakaran has filed a defamation case against CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan and the party’s newspaper Deshabhimani.
The case was initiated in response to remarks made by MV Govindan and published in Deshabhimani, relating to the Monson Mavunkal POCSO case.
Last June, MV Govindan made statements to the media, implicating Monson Mavunkal, a fake-antique dealer, in an alleged assault on a minor girl.
Additionally, Govindan also mentioned that K. Sudhakaran was present at the scene during the incident. These accusations were subsequently published by Deshabhimani, the CPI(M)’s official newspaper.
Reacting to the serious allegations made against him, K. Sudhakaran personally filed the defamation case at the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court.
