Palakkad: The BJP has taken a firm stance against the corruption allegations involving the CPI(M) in the Palakkad’s Shornur Urban Bank. Protesting against the revelation of a Rs. 8 crore loan irregularity specifically benefiting a CPI(M) local committee member and his family, the BJP organized a march to the bank. Led by BJP district president KM Haridas, the protesters demanded a thorough investigation.
As tensions escalated during the march, the police intervened and halted the protest near the bank premises, resulting in a confrontation between the police and the activists.
BJP district president KM Haridas insisted on the involvement of either the CBI or ED to conduct an investigation into the irregularity. Several prominent figures from the party, including Yuva Morcha State Vice President EP Nandakumar, District Cell Coordinator MP Satish Kumar, Constituency President N. Manikanthan, and Constituency Secretary K. Prasad, were also present.
