Palakkad: Malayalam movie actress, Anusree, said that it is unbearable to suffer when someone sitting somewhere insults Lord Ganapathy. The actress was referring to the insulting remarks made by Kerala Assembly Speaker, AN Shamseer, against Lord Ganapathy.
The actress made these remarks while speaking at a public function organized as part of the ‘Ganaesholsavam’ celebrations in Palakkad.
Anusree in her speech said that someone sitting somewhere is saying that Ganapathy is a made up story and a myth. She said we cannot suffer that.
She asked why is everyone insulting Hindus. Some think that Hindus do not have a spine but we have a strong backbone. There is no need for any Hindu to be afraid. If anyone insults my belief, I will respond to it strongly.
Anusree also reminded that many dubbed her as communal bigot when she dresses up as ‘Bharat Mata’ for Sir Krishna Jayanthi procession.
The actress remarked this is her protest against the insulting remarks. And said that this stage has become a place to register her protest.
Anusree said that this stage was Lord Ganapathy’s blessing because she was able to register her protest here and revealed that she had asked for an invitation to be come here.
She said that this is the first time in her life that she asked for an invitation to be part of a function.
Anusree has starred in many hit Malayalam movies and has impressed the audience with her fine acting. She is an unapologetic nationalist at heart and has openly declared her affinity with cultural nationalist organizations. Though the actress has at times come under severe criticism for her nationalist leanings, she carries her patriotism with pride. The actress is a familiar face at Sir Krishna Jayanthi celebrations, when the actress dresses up as Bharat Mata and leads the procession. She says that she has been doing it since her earlier days when she was part of Balagokulam, a Sangh Parivar organization.
