THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In an exclusive Janam TV interview, Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case, has revealed that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has multiple benami business connections across the Gulf. These ventures are frequently disguised as ‘development projects of the Kerala state.
“Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan operates benami businesses in the UAE, Sharjah, and Ajman, which could explain his frequent trips to the Gulf,” Swapna revealed during an interview with Janam TV.
“All the projects labeled as ‘K-projects’ within the state are really ‘V-projects.’ From the initial planning stages, they attract major investors interested in these projects and accept advance payments. These investors later come to realize that these projects exist only on paper, but they dare not oppose him. Many of these initiatives were conceived under the leadership of Sivasankar (the former principal secretary) in the IT department,” Swapna said.
Swapna stated that she had also taken part in various discussions at the Cliff House regarding these projects. However, Veena, Pinarayi’s daughter, was absent from the discussions that Swapna attended. Sivasankar offered a position for Swapna at Veena’s Bengaluru-based company, ‘Exalogic Solutions.’ However, Swapna declined the offer due to her children’s education commitments in Thiruvananthapuram.
Regarding the AI camera project, Swapna mentioned that the son of CPI(M) central committee member E P Jayarajan was initially involved. “At that time, Jayarajan held the position of Industries Minister. I held two meetings with Jayarajan’s son in Dubai to discuss the project. However, when the implementation phase arrived, he was excluded. I was well aware of the project, and it was riddled with corruption,” she stated during the Janam TV interview.
“I was appointed to a ‘paper company’ to oversee all the benami activities. However, the firm PricewaterhouseCoopers objected to my direct appointment, along with another person, for the KFON project. Instead, they established ‘Vision Technologies,’ a company based in Aurangabad that existed only on paper, and included us in it. However, there is no trace of such a company now,” Swapna revealed, indicating that she intends to disclose more details related to the Chief Minister in the near future.
