Kochi: In a heartwarming display of unity and companionship, students from the Malampuzha tribal community had the unique opportunity to lead the Kerala Blasters players onto the playing field during an Indian Super League (ISL) match held at the Kaloor Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium last night. The children, hailing from the Malampuzha Ashram School, made a special journey to Kochi to enjoy this unforgettable experience. These are the students who come from various regions, including Attappadi, Parambikulam, Nenmara, Thalikakallu, Mannarkkad, and Ambalappara. The Blasters won the match by one goal.
Anup R., the Tribal Extension Officer of the Scheduled Caste Development Department in Ernakulam district, expressed his sentiments, saying, “Kerala Blasters is bringing together children from the Scheduled Tribes of Kerala who often gone unnoticed. Our children had the incredible opportunity to walk hand in hand with the stars of the club, the Kerala Blasters, who boast one of the largest fan bases in Asia.” K. Radhakrishnan, the Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes, was the chief guest.
Twenty students, accompanied by their school principal and teachers, arrived in Kochi on Friday to partake in this memorable experience. Alongside their involvement in the ISL match, the children also enjoyed a ride on the metro, explored the city’s sights, and enjoyed various foods.
