Palakkad: Kudumbashree members were threatened again to participate in ‘Thirike school’ (Back to School) program. Threatening voice messages were sent in the WhatsApp group of Kudumbashree members. Sunitha Hari, Community Development Society (CDS) member of the 7th ward of Eruthenpathy Grama Panchayat, Palakkad district, was the source of these threats.
Janam TV received the audio recording of these threatening messages. In the audio clips, it was firmly stated that members who had not yet attended the program were required to attend on the 29th. The threatening message also conveyed a warning that loans would not be sanctioned for those who chose not to participate.
This time, the threat is coming from the CDS chairperson of Eruthenpathy Grama Panchayat. Just the other day, a similar incident occurred when CDS chairperson Prasanna of Kozhinjampara Grama Panchayat also resorted to similar tactics to threaten Kudumbashree members.
In response to these incidents, the BJP has taken action by filing a formal complaint regarding the threats against Kudumbashree members. The complaint has been submitted to the Panchayat Secretary, and the BJP has demanded that the CPI(M) cease their practice of using threats to force Kudumbashree members into participating in their programs. In response to this complaint from the BJP workers, the Panchayat Secretary has initiated an investigation.
