Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Department released the detained Robin Bus. The bus was released after charging a fine of Rs 10,000 for violating the permit. The bus owner said that Robin bus will start its service soon from Coimbatore.

The Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Department took Robin Bus into custody on November 19, on the charge of violating the law. The Gandhipuram Central Regional Transport Office (RTO) officials seized the bus at around 11:45 am near Chavadi after it crossed the Walayar border. Gandhipuram Central RTO directed the bus to be brought to Gandhipuram office after checking the original documents of the bus.

The bus owner, however, expressed confusion, stating that the RTO did not specify the nature of the permit violation. The owner complied with the officials’ instructions to bring the bus to the Gandhipuram RT office and asserted his readiness to face any legal consequences.

Later, the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Department said that the bus that was seized on Sunday would be released after three days. The bus has now been released, but, after charging a fine of Rs 10,000.
