Pathanamthitta: Valsan Thillankeri, the State Working President of Hindu Aikya Vedi, addressed the challenges faced by devotees at Sabarimala. Thillankeri condemned the ongoing situation at Sabarimala, saying that there is a planned move behind it. He added that telling devotees not to come to Sabarimala is unacceptable.
The conflict between the Devaswom Board and the police is causing distress among devotees. Thillankeri urged the Devaswom Minister to take a proactive role in resolving the issues at Sabarimala and advocated for direct intervention. Plans are underway for a direct discussion with the Devaswom President later in the evening. Thillankeri warned that if the discussion doesn’t yield a resolution, all Hindu organizations will stage a protest.
Reports indicated a confrontation between the Devaswom president and the ADGP during a review meeting regarding the uncontrolled crowd situation at Sabarimala. ADGP MR Ajit Kumar stated that approximately 60 people ascend the 18th step every minute, while Devaswom President PS Prashanth claimed it was closer to 75. As tensions escalated between the two persons, the Chief Minister intervened, suggesting that managing the crowd was primarily the responsibility of the police.
