Thiruvananthapuram: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP, has emerged victorious in four seats in the by-elections to the local self-government bodies in the state. The BJP successfully claimed the Manambur ward of the Aruvikkara grama panchayat from the CPI(M), with NDA candidate C. Archana securing a win by a margin of 173 votes.
In Alappuzha district’s Thiruvanvandoor division of the Chengannur block panchayat, NDA candidate Sujanya Gopi emerged victorious with a substantial lead of 1,452 votes. Across all wards within the block division, the NDA claimed the top positions. The NDA also retained control of the factory ward in the Kayamkulam municipality, with BJP’s Santhosh Kaniyamparambil securing victory by obtaining 187 votes. Santhosh defeated Abdul Nazar of the CPI (M).
Moving to Palakkad District, NDA candidate P. Sanjumon emerged victorious in the Palat Road Ward of the Ottapalam Municipal Corporation, securing 361 votes and a majority of 192 votes.
