Thiruvananthapuram: Vanchiyoor court denied bail to Youth Congress Kerala state president Rahul Mamkootathil. He is remanded till January 22. Rahul was arrested today morning from his house in Adoor, Pathanamthitta district, in connection with his involvement in the Secretariat march.

Rahul Mamkootathil was taken to Thiruvananthapuram after he was arrested by the Cantonment Police, Thiruvananthapuram. The court remanded Rahul after a medical examination at the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital which revealed that he had no health problems.

The court ordered Rahul Mamkootathil to undergo a medical examination after he informed the court that he had health problems and was undergoing treatment. The court had also asked the police to accurately record Rahul’s health information before being taken into custody.

Rahul was undergoing treatment after being injured in the clash during the Secretariat March and the court was asking to check the medical information in this regard.

Rahul Mamkootathil’s arrest was related to his involvement in the Youth Congress’s Thiruvananthapuram Secretariat Protest that took place on December 20th, 2023. It is alleged that during the protest, Youth Congress members violently attacked the police and were also involved in destroying public property.
