Thiruvananthapuram: The much-anticipated first train service from Kerala to Ayodhya, named ‘Astha Special,’ is set to commence its inaugural journey on January 30. The train’s departure is scheduled from Palakkad at 7:10 pm. Subsequent services from Palakkad to Ayodhya will operate on February 2nd, 9th, 14th, 19th, 24th, and 29th. The route includes stops at Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, and Gomti Nagar stations.
Return train services from Ayodhya are scheduled for February 3rd, 8th, 23rd, 28th, and March 4th. Passengers’ names will be provided in advance to senior railway-security officials at the relevant stations along the route. Ticket bookings for the train can be made through IRCTC.
It is estimated that approximately 10,000 passengers travel to Ayodhya by train daily. Additionally, a special train from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Ayodhya is scheduled for February 22, with stops at Varkala, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, and Aluva.
