Thrissur: Joshi (53), a native of Mapranam in Thrissur district, expressed temporary relief days after protesting by filing a mercy killing request letter to retrieve his deposited amount in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank. The Karuvannur Cooperative Bank handed over a cheque of Rs 28 lakhs to withdraw Joshi’s fixed deposit.
The Karuvannur Cooperative Bank authorities informed that the amount belonging to Joshi’s family members will be repaid within three months. This information was conveyed after a discussion between the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank CEO Rajesh and Bank Manager Vijayanath.
Two weeks ago, Joshi, an investor in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank in Thrissur, approached Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and the Kerala High Court Chief Justice, seeking permission for mercy killing as he had no other means to live.
In his letter, Joshi also added that he made this move because all his savings were deposited in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank, and he was unable to retrieve his deposits. Joshi and his family members had a total deposit of around Rs 75 lakh in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank, which was held in the Karuvannur cooperative bank. Joshi expressed happiness at getting back the amount, emphasizing that it would enable him to pursue medical treatment.
