Wayanad: Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi is set to arrive in the Wayanad constituency to address the issue of increasing wildlife attacks. Rahul Gandhi will reach Wayanad by taking a day off from the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. He is scheduled to depart from Varanasi at 5 pm, today.
Despite the worsening situation of wildlife disturbances in Wayanad, MP Rahul did not make efforts to understand the problems faced by the people or seek solutions. His return to the constituency comes amidst growing public frustration, with the Congress party attempting to mitigate criticism by showcasing Rahul’s presence. Over the past three weeks, there have been three deaths due to wild animal attacks in Wayanad. Rahul Gandhi’s visit marks his return to the constituency after nearly three months of absence.
Protesters are demanding that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also needs to visit the area. In response to the situation, the government has announced immediate financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh rupees to the family of the deceased, Paul. Additionally, assurances have been made regarding employment opportunity for Paul’s wife and educational assistance for his daughter. However, Paul’s relatives have requested a written response from the government.
