Palakkad: Local residents in Palakkad took a patient to the hospital by tying on a wooden rod when an ambulance failed to arrive. Twenty-two-year-old Satheesan, the son of the Maruthan-Chelli couple, who was suffering from chest pain, was tied to a wooden rod and carried for approximately two kilometres to Kottathara Hospital in Attappadi, Palakkad.
The incident unfolded in Pudur Panchayath, Attappadi, Palakkad, on Monday, at 6:30 pm. Satheesan, experiencing chest pain, awaited for an ambulance, which failed to arrive due to the poor condition of the roads in the tribal village. With no other options in sight, the locals resorted to strapping Satheesan to a rod and carrying him to the hospital.
Satheesan, who frequently suffers from health issues, experienced severe chest pain last evening, prompting his family and neighbours to take action. Despite the rampant wildlife disturbance in the region, Satheesan was brought to the hospital in a very difficult way through the area where wild elephants are prevalent.
