Ernakulam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday dedicated the last station of the Kochi Metro, Thrippunithura Terminal Metro Station, to the nation . The Prime Minister inaugurated the event via video conference from Kolkata. Many people, including people’s representatives and local residents, participated in the function.
A distance of 28.2 km from Aluva to Thrippunithura, with 25 stations, has been completed in the first phase. The Thrippunithura station is built on an area of 1.35 lakh square feet, with a total construction cost of Rs 7,377 crore.
After the inauguration, the first train, carrying differently-abled children, departed for Aluva. The public service will commence after the departure of the first train.
The station has been constructed in a manner that reflects the uniqueness of Kerala. Additionally, it features a dance museum showcasing sculptures of various dance forms. Officials have informed that this dance museum will soon be opened to the public.
