Kannur: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Spokesperson Shama Mohamed responded to Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President K Sudhakaran’s statement that Shama Mohamed is not a member of the Congress party.
Shama Mohamed reacted to Sudhakaran by sharing a screenshot of the Indian National Congress party’s website, which mentions her position within the Congress party. She shared on Facebook it on Facebook with the title ‘My ID’.
However, several comments appeared on her Facebook post, teasing Shama Mohamed. Some comments pointed out that she was not even known to the KPCC President.
Earlier, Sudhakaran vehemently attacked Shama Mohamed after she expressed disappointment with the selection of Congress party candidates from Kerala for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Sudhakaran criticized Shama Mohamed, stating that she is not a member of the Congress party and only participates in TV news channel discussions as a spokesperson of the Congress party.
Shama Mohamed had criticized the Congress party, stating that women and minorities were not given enough consideration in the selection of candidates. Her statement came a day after the Congress announced its 16 candidates from Kerala for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with Ramya Haridas being the only woman on the list.
Shama Mohamed mentioned Rahul Gandhi’s statement regarding 50 percent female representation, noting that last term there were only two women candidates, whereas this time it was reduced to ‘one.’ She added that Kerala has more than 51% of the female population, yet there was only one woman candidate from the Congress party for the election.
