Kolkata: Amid the rising concerns over the new strain of Corona Virus discovered in the UK, two passengers from UK have tested positive for Covid19 in Kolkata Airport today.
Meanwhile, five passengers of a London to Delhi flight have tested positive for Covid. “Five out of 266 passengers and crew members of a flight which arrived at Delhi airport from London last night have tested positive for Covid19. Their samples have been sent to NCDC for research and they have been sent to the care centre”, said a Covid19 Nodal Officer.
Union Civil Aviation Minister on a statement yesterday said that, “There are repots from the United Kingdom that new virus strain is spreading at an alarming rate. Therefore, we have decided from 23.59 hours of December 22 that all flights to and from UK will be temporarily suspended till 31 December 2020”.
In view of the present situation, India had decided to cancel all the flights to and forth UK till Dec 31st.
