Margao: Kerala continued their dominating performance in the Santosh Trophy , securing their third consecutive win with a commanding 3-0 triumph over Chhattisgarh in the match held on Sunday.
Kerala asserted their dominance right from the start, taking an early lead in the sixth minute through a goal from Sajeesh. The team maintained a 1-0 advantage at the half-time break, showcasing a solid defense against Chhattisgarh.
The second half saw Kerala extend their lead as Junain found the net in the 56th minute, doubling the team’s advantage. Captain Nijo Gilbert added to the tally, securing a convincing 3-0 lead in the 68th minute.
The seven-time champions demonstrated their prowess on the field with earlier victories against Gujarat (3-0) and Jammu and Kashmir (6-1). With a perfect record of three wins, Kerala stands top in Group A with nine points. Kerala will lock horns with hosts Goa in their final game scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m.
