Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait, indirectly warned the government that it could find it difficult to stay in power if it continued to not repeal the new agri-marketing laws.
The BKU leader was addressing “mahapanchayat”, a large gathering in Haryana.
The ‘mahapanchayat’ was attended by Haryana BKU chief Gurnam Singh Chaduni and BKU leader from Punjab, Balbir Singh Rajewal.
Rakesh Tikait indirectly warned the Narendra Modi government that it could lose its gaddi (power) if the agitation continues.
Tikait said, “We have so far talked about repealing the farm laws, but what will the government do if the youth calls for removal of power?”
The BKU leader from Uttar Pradesh has been camping at Ghazipur on the Delhi-UP border along with farmers, demanding the repeal of three agri-laws.
After the violence on Republic Day during tractor parade, police personnel have been deployed at borders and the protest sites were barricaded with cement barriers and spikes on the roads.
Criticizing these restrictions, Tikait said, When the king is scared, he secures the fortress.
Tikait urged everyone, particularly the youth, to keep protesting in a peaceful manner.
