BKU leader Rakesh Tikait asked the Centre to explain to the farmers why it does not want to repeal the three farm laws while promising that they will not let the government bow its head before the world.
Tikait asked, What is the compulsion of the government that it is so adamant on not repealing the new farm laws?
Striking a conciliatory note, Tikait said, if the government can tell its reasons to farmers about why they can’t repeal the farm laws, they will never let the government bow its head in shame in front of the world.
The farmers will return home only when the new laws are repealed, the BKU national spokesperson said.
More protestors joined the protest at the Delhi borders after a ‘mahapanchayat’ of farmers on Saturday in Muzaffarnagar. Many Political leaders met Rakesh Tikait and extended their support to him.
Internet services will remain suspended till Sunday night in view of the Centre’s order to maintain public safety and averting public emergency. Around 3,000 security personnel were deployed at the protest site.
