Ernakulam: In the ongoing Karuvannur black money case investigation, former Member of Parliament and CPI (M) leader PK Biju has been directed to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for further interrogation on Monday.
According to ED sources, ED wants to know further information from PK Biju. He underwent interrogation by the ED for eight hours the other day. Biju arrived at the ED office in Kochi at 10 a.m. on Thursday and came out at 7 p.m. Speaking to the media after the interrogation, PK Biju said that he had answered all questions accurately.
There are statements alleging that P. K. Biju, a member of the CPI (M) state secretariat, had a close relationship with the main accused, Satheesh Kumar, and engaged in financial transactions with him. The questioning revolved around this aspect. PK Biju was entrusted with leading the commission of inquiry appointed by the CPI (M) in the Karuvannur scam.
CPI (M) leader PR Aravindakshan, who was arrested in the case, gave a statement against P. K. Biju. It is alleged that Biju received Rs. 5 lakh from Satheesh Kumar in 2020. Meanwhile, CPI (M) Thrissur District Secretary MM Varghese has stated that he will be available for the ED’s interrogation after the 26th.
