Palakkad: Former SFI leader and accused in forgery case, K Vidya, has been granted bail by the Mannarkkad court, said a report. The court has granted bail to the accused on a personal bond of Rs.50,000 and two sureties. The court had remanded her to judicial custody till July 6.
The court has ordered Vidya not to leave the state and demanded that she submit her passport and other documents at the court.
According to the report, the prosecution argued that Vidya had confessed to the crime. When the court asked if the fake seal was found, the prosecution said that Vidya had destroyed it after a case was registered against her. The prosecution also said that the seal and related documents were made online.
Even though she got bail in this case, K Vidya, will be likely be arrested by Nileshwar police for another forgery case, said the report. The Nileshwar police registered a case against her for submitting forged experience certificates to get a teaching job at Government Arts and Science College at Karinthalam in Kasaragod.
K Vidya was on the run since the police registered case against her for using forged experience certificate at a Government College in Attapaddy to gain employment as a guest lecturer. It is alleged that in her experience certificate she claims that she was teaching at Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam during 2018-19.
Vidya was arrested two weeks after she went into hiding. The arrest followed after huge public outcry and criticisms against the ruling communist party. The police was accused of dragging its feet in arresting the accused and helping her continue to hide from the law.
